MERCEDES’S STORY

Mercedes brings together experience in healthcare, professional cosmetology, Reiki, traditional healing influences, herbs and wellness-centered self-care. Her work is rooted in the belief that beauty and well-being are deeply connected, and that caring for yourself can be both practical and restorative.

Her professional path began as a Medical Assistant, where she learned the importance of communication, safety, professionalism and helping people feel comfortable and supported. After completing her cosmetology education at Bellus Academy, she became a California Licensed Cosmetologist. Her experience includes haircutting, coloring, styling, scalp care, wedding and special-event makeup, creative color, barbershop apprenticeship work and mobile beauty services.

Mercedes completed Usui and Tibetan Reiki Practitioner I & II training and has practiced Reiki since March 2026. An early influence was her maternal grandfather, a traditional healer in his village. Through approximately six years of personal study, cultural exposure and mentorship, she developed an appreciation for intuition, community care and approaching the whole person.

HER APPROACH

Mercedes does not believe self-care should be one-size-fits-all. Her approach is intuitive, intentional, individualized and grounded. She meets clients where they are and adapts each experience to their needs and comfort level, creating space to slow down, reconnect and leave feeling more relaxed, cared for and confident.

She does not claim to heal people. Her role is to offer a supportive environment for relaxation, introspection, self-care and reconnection.

PERSONAL TOUCH

Outside of work, Mercedes enjoys anime, Chinese dramas, trying new foods, cooking, spending time with her children, researching whatever has captured her curiosity and quiet time for reflection.
